About the book

Hands up if you need another platitude? Nope! Me neither.

Platitudes, those well-meaning but overused one-liners like ‘just stay positive’ or ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ are utterly useless when you’re thinking, this crap might actually kill me!

What we will always want and need is happiness! Yes please. More of that!

This book will show you how to find optimism and joy through life’s toughest battles in real, actionable ways. You won’t find medical advice here, but you will find practical, simple ideas to help you take back control. This book will help you choose thought patterns that are kind to your mind and support your kids and loved ones.

Thriving with Cancer, Kids and Other Crap isn’t just for people with cancer. It’s for anyone navigating trauma, shock, or sudden change. It’s about getting back up, finding hope, and helping the people around you show up in the best way. If you’re a parent, it shows you how to guide your children through fear and uncertainty without losing yourself in the process.

Feeling alone, overwhelmed, or stuck? This book will meet you wherever you are. It will help you notice the little moments of light again, laugh at life’s absurdities, and reclaim your smile because even in the darkest times, joy is possible.

About Emma
